VOLUNTEERS
At Doncaster Partnership for Carers we value all the support and dedication our volunteers give. They are the backbone of our organisation and we simply could not manage without them.
DPFC benefits from volunteers in a variety of ways:
-
Bringing added skills and experience to our work
-
Create more opportunities to expand our organisation
-
It has a real impact on the people we support.
Why do people become a volunteer?
-
It’s fun and you meet new people
-
Learn new skills and become more confident
-
Helping other people to improve their quality of life
-
Occupying time in a meaningful and constructive way
-
Personal satisfaction, achievement and enjoyment.
At DPFC we work as a team and each team member, whether they are paid or unpaid, are treated equally. We try to ensure volunteers are engaged in roles that are fulfilling and rewarding to their individual needs and we all have the same positive and rewarding experience.
Have you any spare time to offer us?
We are always looking to recruit new volunteers and offer a variety of positions to suit the individuals needs. Existing skills are not necessary, as training will be given. Regular or occasional volunteer opportunities are available but there are certain roles such as office work we ask for a minimum commitment of half a day per week (4 hours).
If you decide to become a volunteer for us you will:
-
Receive a full induction and training for the role
-
Be reimbursed for any travel expenses incurred in the work
-
Have a named line manager who will give guidance and support
-
Be treated as a team member.
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities including:
-
Reception ie answering the telephone and recording details
-
Administrative duties
-
Updating and renewing information for the organisation
-
